Greg Johnson’s parents were high school teachers that made a bold decision to start investing in rental property in the 1970s… before it was cool to watch on cable TV. Those humble beginnings set the foundation for Greg Johnson’s career in commercial real estate.
Greg Johnson is the guest expert that was interviewed on our 26th episode of the Kyle Malnati Show! In 2003, Greg had a career change that gave him an opportunity to work with a family friend and mentor, Jim Lorenzen. For the next 10 years, Greg worked with his mentor to develop one of Denver’s most recognizable apartment management brands, Cornerstone Apartment Services. Greg helped to grow Cornerstone from just a few hundred apartments to over 1,500 units under management by adding clients through the real estate brokerage arm of Cornerstone.
Here are a few highlights from our YouTube podcast with Greg Johnson:
– How does apartment construction effect Denver real estate?
– What will happen in Denver when vacancy trends increase?
– Will rental rates for apartment buildings soften or decrease?
– How does Central Denver’s apartment compare to others?
– Key to Success: “identify your purpose by asking the question: WHY?”
– How you can avoid “paralysis by analysis”?
– Best advice for aspiring investors: “start with the end in mind”?
Quote from the show:
– “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing.” ~President Teddy Roosevelt
“It is a very exciting time in the apartment market as we are seeing record prices, rents at an all-time high and still have tremendous investor interest in the Denver Metro Area,” said Greg Johnson, Madison Commercial Properties. “I couldn’t be more excited about our possibilities for growth and our ability to serve our clients’ commercial real estate and investment needs.”
